During the half-hour walk, the rosary is prayed together; this is followed by a pilgrimage service in the branch church of the Obermillstatt parish. The pilgrimage thus combines a walk through the landscape with a religious occasion.

The Hemma Pilgrimage Trail also passes through Sappl. On the first stage from Millstatt to Bad Kleinkirchheim, Matzelsdorf is reached after 8 km, or approximately 2.5 hours; before that, the route runs through Sappl. Hikes between Circular Trails and Uphill Sections

The Wilder Mann circular trail starts at the Maria Schnee pilgrimage church in Matzelsdorf, leads via the Wilder Mann Stein viewpoint to Sappl and returns to Matzelsdorf. The circular trail is 3.77 km long and takes approximately 1.1 hours. These details help you distinguish a shorter circular trail from other tours with longer sections.

Trail 1913 leads from Sappl via the Sappler Hütte and the Jufenhöhe to Trail No. 191. Another route option is the Gauglerhof–Jufen–Granattor route: it reaches Sappl via a small meadow path and leads from the village uphill along a winding road towards the Lammersdorfer Hütte and Jufen-Kreutz. On the descent, sections run via the Lammersdorfer Hütte, the Leitsbergalm and the Ambroshütte in the direction of Sappl. Depending on the type of tour you prefer, you can choose between a circular trail, a route passing several stations and a route with a clearly described ascent.

Tours through Sappl and the Surrounding Area

The organic autumn hike at Lake Millstatt leads through Görtschach, Sappl and Matzelsdorf. It then descends to Lake Millstatt and returns to the starting point in Millstatt. The Gauglerhof–Jufen–Granattor route also offers several different sections, including the meadow path, the huts and the winding road section.

Sappl is also a named part of a tour for cycling travelers: the Millstatt–Seeboden–Döbriach–High Plateau cycling tour follows the Obermillstätter Landesstraße to Sappl and then continues on Trail No. 65 in the direction of Starfach and Döbriach.
