İbradı combines historic architecture in the town centre with natural attractions nearby. The Düğmeli Evler (Button Houses) are particularly distinctive: protected mansions whose timber frames, stone walls and carvings give the town its character. This offers a clear question to consider when planning your trip: would you like to focus on architecture and local history, or also include nature experiences in the surrounding area?

The Button Houses in the town centre

Seven historic mansions in the centre of İbradı are protected and have been developed for tourism. The Button Houses are built with timber frames made from cedar and tar wood, as well as stone walls constructed without mortar. This combination of timber framing and mortarless masonry gives the architecture its distinctive character. Those interested in architecture will find specific features to look for, rather than seeing the houses merely as a historic backdrop.

The windows, doors and ceilings of rooms in the historic Button Houses feature various carved wooden decorations.

History at the town entrance

The cemetery at the entrance to İbradı contains gravestones belonging to many Ottoman scholars. This is another historical aspect of the town, in addition to its mansions and their architecture. The Arapastı Chestnut tree still stands and continues to bear fruit. It was registered on 17 November 1992 by the Antalya Committee for the Protection of Cultural and Natural Assets. Together, these places of remembrance and this natural monument add different themes to the architectural features that make İbradı distinctive.

A cave and nature walks nearby

Altınbeşik Cave is 13.5 kilometres from the centre of İbradı. The cave’s first section is reached by boat via a 200-metre-long underground lake. This makes the experience quite different from a walk: the focus here is on the cave, the underground lake and the boat ride. The distance from the centre also gives you a specific point of reference when considering the cave as part of a stay in İbradı.

In a nearby national park, former sections of trail have been restored for ecotourism, and there are routes for nature walks. Together with the cave, this offers another way to explore the area: you can focus on the nature trails or take a particular interest in the underground cave landscape. No information about the duration or difficulty of the walks is provided; choose these experiences based on what you would like to discover on your trip.

İbradı as a destination when looking for a holiday apartment

If you are looking for a holiday apartment in İbradı, the town’s local architecture can be an important part of your travel decision.

The İbradı Grape Festival is also part of local tradition; in 2025, it was held for the 35th time.
