Kaleücagız combines a coastal landscape with traces of the Lycian port city of Teimiussa. The site of the ancient city lies within today’s settlement of Üçağız; tombs, a sunken quay, and narrow lanes give the place a distinctive historic character. There are also walking and cycling trails, as well as trips on the water. If you are looking for a holiday apartment for a vacation that brings together the coast, history, and outdoor activities, Kaleücagız offers several ways to do so.

Teimiussa and its visible traces

The necropolis of Teimiussa is marked by block-stone sarcophagi carved from the bedrock. Numerous tomb remains can also be found elsewhere in Üçağız. Two house-shaped rock tombs stand near the quay. Beside one is a figure of a young man or child; a Lycian inscription above the entrance gives the name Kluwanimi. The different tomb forms and the inscription make a visit interesting for travelers who want to learn about the area’s history.

The historic heritage also includes a quay submerged beneath the water. Sarcophagi scattered along the coast of Teimiussa can be reached from the sea via small jetties and steps. Their location by the shore sets them apart from the tombs you can see in the settlement: here, the historic heritage is visible not only on land but also directly by the water. Kale Üçağız has stone houses and narrow lanes along the waterfront, adding another, everyday dimension to the townscape.

Hiking trails, cycling routes, and boat trips

The Lycian Way starts from a spot behind the houses of Üçağız, follows a dirt track, and reaches the shipyard after 2–3 km. Below the settlement, the trail returns to the coast; from the pebble beach, a narrow path continues toward Andriake. These different sections are useful when planning your day: you can follow the stated route to the shipyard or consider a stretch of coast in the direction of Andriake.

Kale Üçağız also has developed hiking trails and cycling routes where visitors can explore the landscape. This lets you shape your stay around what interests you most: time spent walking, exploring by bike, or a day on the water. Boat trips to Simena (Kaleköy) and Kekova Island depart from Üçağız. From Kale Üçağız, visitors can view the sunken city from above on canoe or boat tours.

Coast, getting there, and local cuisine

The settlements of Kale and Üçağız lie on the coast of the Kaş-Kekova Special Environmental Protection Area. Üçağız’s natural harbor is also important for maritime and yacht tourism. Anyone considering a holiday apartment in Kaleücagız can therefore choose the place according to their own vacation interests: the historic traces, trails, and trips on the water described here offer different focal points, without requiring a particular type of accommodation.

You can get there via the road between Antalya and Kaş. About 18 km before Kaş, a road branches south toward Üçağız; the drive takes approximately half an hour. Treat these approximate figures as a guide for route planning, not as exact times or distances. Visitors can try Mediterranean cuisine at restaurants in Kale Üçağız. This culinary touch adds to the ways of getting to know the place through its coast, Lycian heritage, and outdoor activities.
