Bademli
Accommodation in Bademli
Bademli combines coastal scenery with a village whose traditional layout has largely been preserved. Clear coves and olive groves surround the village; at Bademli Deniz Ilıcası, the sea meets a thermal spring. This gives you different priorities to consider when deciding where to spend your holiday: swimming on the coast, discovering the village’s history or enjoying activities on the water. Which of these aspects interests you most may influence your choice of Bademli as a holiday destination.
Sea and Thermal Spring in Bademli
One special feature of Bademli Deniz Ilıcası is that visitors can swim there year-round in both the sea and the thermal spring. The springs are set up as pools. Their temperature reaches up to 65 °C, while the sea there is about 42 °C. These figures describe two distinctly different bodies of water at this location; the thermal spring is therefore not simply the same as an ordinary beach.
Bademli Deniz Ilıcası is located at the end of Kalem Adası, on the coast in Bademli. It can be reached through olive groves. There are no facilities around the spring because the area has been designated a protected area. Anyone wishing to explore this stretch of coast will therefore find a different setting from Bademli Halk Plajı, with its kiosks and rental options.
Village Layout and Island Character
Bademli is a former Greek settlement. Its stone houses and traditional village layout have largely been preserved and shape the character of the place. A walk through Bademli can therefore offer something beyond swimming: the village’s history can be experienced through its built environment, without the need for a specific attraction. Bademli Deniz Ilıcası was formerly known as Aiolis Ilıcası.
Kalem Adası, a narrow island running north to south, is part of the village. At its longest point, it is about 1.5 kilometres long and lies about 400 metres from the mainland. Kalem Adası can be reached by boat. Kalem Adası Oliviera Resort offers its guests pedal boats, jet skis, canoes, surfing and sailing, as well as diving and surfing courses. These activities are offered by the resort; they do not automatically describe what is available at other places along the coast.
Beaches and Excursions Nearby
Bademli Halk Plajı is located in a bay and has been awarded the Blue Flag. Admission is free; parasols and sun loungers are available to rent. There are kiosks around the beach. In these respects, it differs both from the facility-free surroundings of the thermal spring and from the activities the resort on Kalem Adası offers its guests.
Nearby, Kayra Beach lies between Dikili and Bademli. There are sun loungers, showers and restaurants, as well as activities such as table tennis, chess and volleyball. Another option is Killik Koyu: this nearby bay is known for its white sand and turquoise sea. Visitors use the natural clay found there for skin care. Families looking to combine different interests can take these varied coastal experiences into account when planning their holiday, without treating them as a single offering.
Hayıtlı Plajı is also in the area. From Bademli, head in the direction of Denizköy; after turning onto an unpaved road, it takes about five minutes to reach the beach. There are no facilities on nearby Garip Adası. These differences between beaches with named facilities and a place without facilities give you different reasons to explore the area around Bademli further.
Culture Throughout the Year
The Bademli Festival takes place every year and helps preserve the village’s cultural life. Together with the largely preserved stone houses, it is another point of interest for travellers who want to discover the local culture as well as the sea and thermal spring. If you are mainly looking for coast and water during your stay, other experiences will take priority; if you are also interested in village history and cultural life, this adds another dimension to Bademli.
