Karasu is best known for its long coastline: Karasu Plajı is about 20 kilometres long, combining fine-grained sand with clean water. There are also opportunities for walking and cycling, a lake for fishing, and nature destinations with trails and viewing platforms. If you are looking for a holiday apartment in Karasu, you can start by considering whether your stay will focus on the beach and outdoor activities, nature excursions or the town’s history.

Beach and Cycling Routes

At Karasu Plajı, you can walk or cycle along the beach. There are also food and drink establishments along the beach. The Karasu coast has been awarded Blue Flag status; Karasu 32 Evler Plajı is one of two Blue Flag beaches in Karasu.

There is a specific route for a bike ride by the beach: a cycling path runs along Doğu-Karadeniz Street from the 32 Evler area to the Akkum area. The central settlement is also connected to the cycling routes along the coast. Areas for cycling and scooter use in Karasu are available to residents and visitors. If cycling is important to your trip, these areas and the named cycling route can help you plan your stay.

Lakes and Nature Destinations

Küçükboğaz Lake is five kilometres east of the Karasu district centre and covers 50 hectares. Fishing with a rod is permitted there. This makes a trip there different from a day at the beach: the focus here is on fishing at the lake.

Acarlar Lake lies on the border between the Karasu and Kaynarca districts and can be reached via Karasu. Boat and pedal-boat rides are available at Acarlar Longoz. A 1.5-kilometre circular trail and viewing platforms add to the activities available on site. Acarlar Longoz is classified as a first-degree natural site. When planning your visit, you can choose between a trip on the water and a walk on foot.

In the vicinity of Karasu, Maden Deresi is home to a waterfall and the remains of an old dam. Visitors can hike, picnic and take photographs there. This offers another way to experience the area, alongside beach days, bike rides and fishing at Küçükboğaz Lake.
