Ciwareng is associated with a distinct regional theme through the animal market in Desa Ciwareng. It is one of the largest animal markets in Jawa Barat. Animals are traded here from Jawa Tengah, Jawa Timur, Lampung, Sumatera and Bali, as well as from several other regencies in Jawa Barat. The Jatiluhur Dam forms a reservoir of approximately 83 km² with a shoreline circumference of 150 km. The dam is located approximately 7 km west of Purwakarta city.
