Ramgarh draws attention to two distinct themes: details about a fort in the municipality of the same name and an amusement park near the town. Fort Ramgarh promotes its own superlatives; Funcity is an amusement and water park. This brings together a historical focus and a leisure-oriented one, which you can weigh differently depending on your interests.

Fort Ramgarh: Door, Fan and Wall

The fort advertises a wooden door as “The Tallest Wooden Door In The World” and lists a “Biggest Hand Driven Fan” as one of its attractions. According to its own account, Fort Ramgarh describes its wall as 390 years old and 18 feet thick; it was built to protect the fort from enemy attacks. The superlatives are the fort’s own wording, while the wall’s age, thickness and purpose are part of its historical description. Together, these details give the fort’s account a tangible character.

Funcity Near Ramgarh

Funcity is located near Ramgarh on the Panchkula–Barwalla Nadha Sahib Gurudwara Highway. The distance to Chandigarh is given as 20 km. This location places the amusement and water park in the wider area; its classification as a park makes the distinction from the fort’s cultural and historical focus clear. When looking for a holiday rental, you can consider which of these interests you would like to prioritize during your stay.

Panchkula: Temple, Garden and Tradition

A broader regional perspective leads to Panchkula. The Mata Mansa Devi Temple in Panchkula district is dedicated to the goddess Mansa Devi, a form of Shakti. The temple complex covers 100 acres in the Shivalik foothills, in Bilaspur village near Mani Majra and Panchkula; Chandi Mandir is 10 km away. Two Navratra melas are held there every year: one in the month of Ashvin, also known as Shardiya, Sharad or Winter Navratra, and one in the month of Chaitra, the Spring Navratra. They are organized by the Shrine Board.

Yadavindra Garden is located in Pinjore in Panchkula district and is also known as Pinjore Gardens and Pinjor Gardens. Gurudwara Nada Sahib on the banks of the Ghaggar in the Sivalik foothills offers another cultural point of reference. These names and locations show that, alongside Ramgarh’s fort theme, Panchkula offers other religious and historical points of interest.

Lakes, Garden and Nature in Panchkula

Morni is the only hill resort in Haryana and is located in Panchkula district. There are two lakes in the Morni Hills: the larger is about 550 metres long and 460 metres wide; the smaller measures approximately 365 metres in both directions. Also in the district is Bir Shikargah Wildlife Sanctuary, which covers 767.30 hectares (1,896.0 acres). These details complement the temple and garden destinations with lakes and protected natural areas.

In the centre of Panchkula is the Cactus Garden, now the National Cactus and Succulent Botanical Garden and Research Centre. It covers seven acres and contains more than 2,500 species of cacti and succulents. From April to September, it is open daily from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.; in March and October, it is open daily from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Check opening hours before your visit.

Aqua Village Pinjore has five pools: a family pool, a children’s pool, a wave pool and two concentric pools with slides. The types of pools on offer differ considerably; check the current access conditions before visiting. Panchkula Golf Club has an 18-hole golf course designed as a championship facility. It covers approximately 135 acres on the western bank of the Ghaggar. If golf is part of your plans, check membership and access in advance.

When choosing your holiday rental, it helps to set a clear priority: should your stay focus mainly on Ramgarh’s fort details and Funcity, or would you also like to include separate destinations in the wider Panchkula area? Base your search on the places that matter for your trip, without combining all the destinations mentioned into a single day’s itinerary.
