In the wider surroundings of Jincheng, you can choose from the historic old town, cultural attractions and scenic highlights. Nanda Jie draws attention to the old city centre and its commercial street; the museum and Jingde Bridge offer different cultural and historical perspectives, while Bai Ma Temple Mountain Forest Park adds a natural dimension. If you are looking for a holiday rental, first consider whether the old town and its food, the museum and architectural history, or the forest and recreation area matter most to you.

Nanda Jie: Historic Commercial Street

Nanda Jie is a 650-metre-long historic commercial street and forms the axis of Jincheng’s old town. A classification published by the tourism administration in 2024 lists two provincial awards for the street: one as a cultural and tourism district for the night-time economy, and another as a tourist leisure district. It also describes the street’s development into a cultural and tourism thoroughfare.

A description from 2023 depicts a lively night market on Nanda Jie, where visitors can sample night-market dishes. Two different aspects of the old town come together here: its role as a historic commercial thoroughfare and the described market and food scene. This does not establish the night market’s opening hours.

The Museum and Jingde Bridge: Different Historical Connections

Jincheng Museum is located in Chengqu District, at the northwest corner of the intersection of Fengtai East Street and Wenbo Road. It is open Tuesday to Sunday and closed on Mondays. Admission begins at 09:00 and ends at 16:00; the museum closes at 17:00. Timed reservations under visitors’ real names are required. Check the museum’s latest notices before your visit.

Unlike the museum’s set visiting hours, Jingde Bridge offers a historical point of interest through its precise construction date. It is located in Jingde Park, within the wider area of Jincheng’s old-town renewal project. The historic heritage bridge dates to 1189, the 29th year of the Dading era of the Jin dynasty, and connects the surrounding natural landscape with history. The structure thus provides a specific point of reference for the region’s cultural history.

Landscape and Architecture in the Wider Surroundings

Bai Ma Temple Mountain Forest Park is in Chengqu District, four kilometres north of Jincheng’s urban area. In 2007, the proportion of forest cover was reported to be more than 80 percent. The park’s main attractions include Bai Ma Tuojiang, Bai Ma Chan Temple, Jinggong Tower, stone Buddha statues and Black Dragon Pool.

Jinggong Tower stands on the summit of Bai Ma Temple Mountain. Built entirely of grey bricks, the structure has seven storeys and stands 23 metres tall. Its materials, number of storeys and height give the tower a clearly defined architectural profile among the park’s named attractions. Bai Ma Chan Temple is also one of the forest park’s main attractions.

As another landscape attraction, Longma Lake is located in the Bai Ma Temple Mountain recreation area. It is a major ecological landscape project in the northern suburban area of Chengqu District. The wider surroundings therefore offer both forest scenery with its named attractions and a separately described landscape project.

Different priorities emerge when choosing the kind of stay you want: old-town and food culture on Nanda Jie, a museum with set visiting requirements, or forest and architectural culture in the wider surroundings. First decide which of these experiences you want to shape your trip; then you can check the location of a holiday rental in relation to your chosen destinations more precisely.
