Jiamusi: Parks, Cultural Heritage and City Attractions
Accommodation in Jiamusi
Jiamusi offers a variety of experiences: expansive parks with water and woodland, places for recreation and exercise, and Youfang Hutong, a center for intangible cultural heritage and regional cuisine. If you are looking for a vacation rental in the city, you can start by considering your interests: would you prefer to focus on park landscapes or on urban history, culture and food?
Parks with different highlights
In the southeastern part of the city is Shu “Water-Source Mountain Park,” a park classified as an AAA-rated tourist attraction. Its main focus is showcasing wildlife, complemented by recreation and entertainment. The park covers 64 hectares, while its planned area is 54 hectares. It is about 3 km from the central square. These location and area details provide a specific sense of the park’s location and size without conflating its different offerings.
In the southwestern part of the city is the Sifeng Mountain Scenic Tourism Area, about 6 km from the city center. It combines flood control and irrigation with tourism and parkland. Of its total area of 360 hectares, 261 hectares are water; forest cover reaches up to 80 percent. The area also has four interconnected basalt peaks. According to its description, it is suitable for recreation and physical activity for people of different ages. Water, woodland and peaks are therefore found alongside the area’s functional purposes.
Alongjiang Park, in the northern part of the city, is a national AAA-rated tourist attraction. It stretches 6.2 km from west to east and covers 89 hectares. Its different areas are dedicated to ecological wetlands, cultural recreation and quiet leisure. This layout offers a different focus from the wildlife displays at Shu “Water-Source Mountain Park” or the combination of water and basalt peaks at the Sifeng Mountain Scenic Tourism Area.
Youfang Hutong: Cultural Heritage and Regional Cuisine
Youfang Hutong is in Xiangyang District and is a national tourism and leisure area. It was established in 1931 and named after an oil mill that once operated there. As the first district in Jiamusi established for intangible cultural heritage, it combines a clearly identified historical origin with a cultural focus. Following government-led redevelopment in 2021, it developed into an urban destination for visitors and gatherings, featuring intangible cultural heritage, regional specialties and a night-time economy.
Youfang Hutong also has a pedestrian street for dining. It offers select dining options considered high-quality and healthy, as well as popular food projects. Culture and food thus stand out as distinct attractions alongside Jiamusi’s park landscapes. For travelers especially interested in regional cuisine and intangible cultural heritage, this district is quite different from an outing centered on water, woodland or park areas.
Near Jiamusi is the Aoqi Bay Hezhen Tourism Area, with areas for water activities and cultural presentations. It adds another option combining water and culture.
Which aspect would you like to shape your trip?
When choosing a vacation rental in Jiamusi, you can start by thinking about which experiences matter most to your travel group. The three parks described here each offer something different: wildlife displays at Shu “Water-Source Mountain Park”; water, woodland and peaks at the Sifeng Mountain Scenic Tourism Area; and ecological wetlands and varied recreation areas at Alongjiang Park. Youfang Hutong, in turn, combines cultural heritage with regional cuisine.
