Tunchang: Fragrance Culture, Painting and Rural Life

Visitors can watch painters at work or commission a painting. These offer two different ways to engage with painting: observing the creative process or commissioning a picture. The street provides a cultural focus of its own alongside the park’s plant and fragrance themes.

Sports Facilities and a Night Market

Tunchang’s National Fitness Centre adds a sporting dimension to the picture. It was completed and opened at the end of 2014. Because of its white, egg-shaped badminton hall, it is locally known as the “Dinosaur Egg.” The complex includes five five-a-side football pitches, a seven-a-side football pitch, an enclosed football pitch, three basketball courts, two volleyball courts, two tennis courts and a gateball court.

Another glimpse of Tuncheng is the night market at Mingzhu Square, which was described in 2021 as a place to shop at night.
