A holiday apartment in Mitoma should be considered a place to stay in western Uganda’s Mitooma District. For a trip east, the Kitagata hot springs in neighbouring Sheema are an option. If visiting these springs is your main priority, compare the accommodation address with a location in the Kitagata area.
Two springs in Sheema
Kitagata is an excursion destination on the Ishaka–Kagamba Road; the district administration gives a location approximately two kilometres southeast of Kitagata town. The two neighbouring springs are called Ekyomugabe and Mulago. Local tradition associates Ekyomugabe with a former king of Ankole.
In February 2025, the Rotary Club of Garuga reported on a sunshade built there. The report describes a project at that time. It is not a guarantee of current facilities or a fixed visiting programme.
Coordinate your holiday apartment and day-trip plans
Mitoma and Kitagata are different places to stay and visit. A holiday apartment in Mitoma is therefore not necessarily right next to the springs simply because of this regional connection. Plan your journey to Sheema separately and check current access directly at your destination.
