Grace Bay brings together the white sand and turquoise waters of Grace Bay Beach, Bight Reef at its western end, an 18-hole golf course in the Grace Bay area and cultural attractions. The beach, golf and history offer different focal points for planning your trip.

Beach and Reefs

Bight Reef, also known as Coral Gardens, lies at the western end of Grace Bay and is the nearest shore reef. Two adjacent access points with parking and footpaths lead to the beach at and near the reef. Among the largest beach access points are Central Access near Seven Stars Resort & Spa and Grande Court Access near Royal West Indies Resort. Check local conditions before visiting the beach.

The barrier reef off Grace Bay is nearby and accessible only by boat. It offers coral, fish and underwater views; good snorkelling is not accessible from the shore. Conditions can vary. This means the details about the shore reef and the barrier reef farther offshore are quite different when planning activities on the water.

Potcake Place offers another special activity at Grace Bay Beach: the organisation offers guests the chance to take a puppy on a socialisation walk during their holiday. As the activity and availability can change, check with the organisation before visiting.

Golf and Other Activities

Royal Turks and Caicos Golf Club is an 18-hole golf course in the Grace Bay area. The course is a par-72 destination golf course. The championship course measures 6,705 yards from the black tees; there are four sets of tees. Tee configurations may change.

Karl Litten designed the course with rugged limestone formations and water features. Water features are found on six of the front nine and seven of the back nine holes. Course details may also change over time. Flamingos, herons and egrets live at the golf course, including resident and migratory birds; which animals you see may vary.

The club also has two floodlit tennis courts, open to members and the public. Check current availability before visiting. Golf, tennis and the landscape of limestone and water features offer more to explore beyond the beach.

Culture in Grace Bay

Since 2009, Maskanoo has been a modern interpretation of Bahamian Junkanoo parades and local Massin'. Maskanoo includes a Boxing Day parade in Grace Bay with Junkanoo bands, floats, costumes and musical performances by local bands. If you are planning your trip around it, check current event announcements.

The National Museum & Heritage Site in Grace Bay on Providenciales displays a small collection of indoor and outdoor exhibits covering several centuries of Turks and Caicos Islands history. The current location serves as a placeholder until a modern museum building is built. This insight into the archipelago’s history complements the destination’s beach and nature attractions.

The Wider Turks and Caicos Islands Destination

Beyond Grace Bay, the wider Turks and Caicos Islands destination offers more perspectives for planning. Water sports available on the islands include jet skiing, tubing, wakeboarding, parasailing, E-foiling and kiteboarding. Boat trips in the Turks and Caicos Islands visit uninhabited cays, beaches and reefs. These options are available across the archipelago and should be distinguished from the places described here in Grace Bay.

Choosing the Right Holiday Apartment

When looking for a holiday apartment in Grace Bay, you can start by deciding which experiences you want to shape your stay: beach and reef, golf or culture. It is also important to know that the barrier reef is accessible only by boat; for Maskanoo, Boxing Day is the event date.
