If you are considering Collentañe as a travel destination, you can also plan nature and hot spring experiences in the wider region. Parque Nacional Huerquehue offers a network of trails of varying lengths and difficulty levels; in the Pucón area, two hot spring complexes add to the options. These differences can provide a practical guide when searching for a vacation rental: first consider whether hiking or visiting pools is more of a priority for you.

Parque Nacional Huerquehue and its trails

Parque Nacional Huerquehue covers 12,500 hectares and is located in the municipalities of Pucón and Cunco. Its network of trails includes Los Lagos, San Sebastián, Quinchol, Ñirrico and Integración. The park’s only access road leads from Pucón toward Caburgua via the turnoff to the village of Paillaco. As road conditions can change, check the latest information with CONAF before planning your visit.

The park’s camping area is also well equipped: it has 22 tent sites, a cooking shelter, sinks, parking, toilets and hot-water showers. The availability of these facilities may change; check their current status before your visit.

Compare hikes by time and difficulty

The trails vary considerably. At 10.8 kilometers, Los Lagos is the longest of the trails listed; the one-way walking time is four hours, and the trail is considered moderately difficult. San Sebastián is 3.1 kilometers long, takes two hours one way and is rated difficult. Quinchol is slightly shorter at three kilometers, also has a one-way walking time of two hours, and is considered moderately difficult.

Especially when planning with children or multiple generations, it is worth looking at more than one figure: San Sebastián and Quinchol are similar in length and have the same stated walking time, but differ in difficulty. The two trails rated easy are shorter: Ñirrico is 828 meters long and takes 30 minutes one way; Integración is 340 meters long, with a one-way walking time of 15 minutes. This lets you compare the trail profiles without treating length, time and difficulty as equivalent. The times given are for the one-way route. Trail conditions and availability may change; check CONAF’s latest park information before your visit.

Hot springs in the Pucón area

Hotel & Termas Huife has four pools: three outdoor pools and one partially covered hydrotherapy pool. The pools have temperatures between 35 and 39 °C. Termas Pucón Indómito has five outdoor pools, an indoor pool and 13 hot tubs. The two complexes therefore differ in both the number and type of pools. If you are planning a visit to the hot springs, these specific differences can help determine the focus of your outing.

Plan a stay that suits your needs

When looking for a vacation rental in Collentañe, it helps to sort out your planned day trips first. If you mainly want to hike in Parque Nacional Huerquehue, compare the trails by length, one-way walking time and difficulty, and take into account the access road via Pucón and Paillaco. If you want to include hot springs, the different pool facilities can help shape your plans.
