Discover Mount Rose
Accommodation in Mount Rose
The Mount Rose Seventh-day Adventist Church building served as both a church and a school until 1937. Mrs. Sweany started a private school on the ground floor with nine pupils. A new church building was erected in 1937; after that, the former building was used exclusively as a school. This sequence links a specific place in Mount Rose with the story of its former use as a school.

Nature and landscapes in Saint Patrick
The wider destination of Saint Patrick is home to the 450-acre Levera National Park, an important biodiversity area. Its lagoon is an important wildlife habitat and refuge for numerous bird species. Visitors can walk a circular trail around the 23-acre pond. From Levera Beach, there are views of Sugar Loaf Island, Green Island and Sandy Island. The lagoon, birdlife, pond trail and island views each offer a different focus for a nature-oriented stay.
Lake Antoine offers a different geological focus: the lake formed after the collapse of an extinct volcanic dome and is a crater lake. It is also home to a rich wetland ecosystem. In the wider Saint Patrick area, Levera’s lagoon landscape and Lake Antoine’s volcanic origins therefore present different nature themes side by side.
History, culture and cocoa
Belmont Estate is a 300-year-old working plantation in northern Saint Patrick. Its offerings include plantation and cocoa tours, as well as a museum. The cocoa fermentation facility showcases traditional and modern cocoa-processing methods. These include the so-called “Dancing of the Cocoa,” in which the beans are polished. This connects plantation history with practical insights into cocoa processing.
The Grenada Chocolate Company also represents cocoa from Saint Patrick: in Hermitage, the company operates a chocolate factory using the “tree to bar” approach. Mount Rich is home to significant indigenous archaeological sites and Amerindian petroglyphs, or rock art. Leapers’ Hill has a monument. The site is associated with the French attack of 1650, during which about 40 Island Caribs jumped from the cliff, later called le Morne des Sauteurs. The cultural and historical range of the wider Saint Patrick area thus extends from cocoa production to archaeological sites and places of historical remembrance.
