Jolly Harbour combines coastal scenery with marina, sports and golf facilities. Jolly Beach brings the beach into the picture; in town, there are also tennis, a swimming pool and a golf course. Boat trips and snorkelling are also among the possible activities. When choosing a holiday apartment, it may therefore be important to consider whether you are mainly planning beach time, activities on the water or sports.

Jolly Beach and the Harbour

Jolly Beach lies on Antigua’s west coast near Jolly Harbour. The beach is about a mile long, with powder-white sand beside the warm waters of the Caribbean Sea. If you see this stretch of coast as the main focus of your trip, you can weigh up beach days against your other interests in Jolly Harbour when choosing where to stay.

Jolly Harbour is considered a secure harbour for the islands and has facilities for yachts, motorboats and mega-yachts. The public facilities within the gated community include a marina, a golf course, a sports centre and a shopping centre. This mix of harbour and leisure facilities makes it possible to pursue different holiday interests without committing to just one way of spending your days.

Tennis, Swimming and Golf

The Jolly Harbour Sports Centre offers tennis lessons and floodlit tennis courts for hire. The centre also has a large swimming pool with sun loungers. If tennis is part of your plans, check the current availability of lessons and court hire before visiting.

The Jolly Harbour Golf Club course is 5,587 yards long. Its fairways run through green, hilly terrain, and the course also includes seven lakes. The club has a clubhouse with a pro shop, snack bar, showers and changing room. For current availability of the club’s facilities, it is advisable to contact the operator. The course length and described terrain also give you specific points of reference if golf is an important part of your trip planning.

Head Out by Boat and Snorkel at the Reef

On the Reef Riders Tour, guests can drive their own inflatable two-person boat from Jolly Harbour Marina. The tour also includes a guided snorkelling trip at Cades Reef, which is described as part of the National Marine Reserve. The same tour therefore features both a self-driven boat and a guided time in the water. Check the tour’s current availability before booking.
