A deed of donation from 1398 referring to Svetitskhoveli establishes a medieval historical connection to the settlement of Ts’avk’isi.

The Church of the Virgin Mary in the north of Ts’avk’isi is recorded as dating from the 16th to 17th century. In the lower district of Ts’avk’isi, the Church of St. Marina is recorded as dating from the 17th to 18th century.

To the west of Ts’avk’isi, the Kviratskhoveli niche shrine is recorded as an 18th-century cultural heritage site. In 1595, King Simon donated Ts’avk’isi to Metekhi Cathedral.
