Bakurianis Andeziti: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Bakurianis Andeziti is located on the northern slope of the Trialeti Range in the headwaters of the Borjomula River, at an altitude of around 1,800 metres. Culture

After 1932, Bakurianis Andeziti developed around an industrial enterprise and was established as a workers’ settlement with apartment blocks, a kindergarten, school, club, canteen, shops, clinic and library. The school and library have been preserved; the library contains 17,000 books and is used by children and adults.

A former stone-processing factory and a building intended for a porcelain plant were looted. It is reported that the industrial enterprise closed about three decades ago. The town also has an andesite quarry, grinding mills and saw workshops.

Getting Around

A regular bus route connects Bakuriani bus station with Andeziti and Tsikhisjvari in both directions. From Bakuriani, Tabatskuri can be reached via the Tskhratskaro Pass; the distance is around 30 kilometres one way. In winter, the road to Tabatskuri is closed, and access from Bakuriani is by snowmobile.
