Oni is known for its stone architecture and Jewish heritage. The town is home to the Oni Synagogue, a domed building in the eclectic style that was constructed in 1895. It is described as Georgia’s third-largest synagogue and as an immovable cultural monument of national importance. Its exterior is made of white limestone and features a domed roof; the dome bears a multi-pointed Star of David.
