Epalinges is situated at an elevated position above Lausanne, approximately 400 meters above the water level of Lake Geneva.

Epalinges lies at an altitude of 785 meters above sea level, approximately 4 km northeast of Lausanne, on the southern slope of the Jorat in the Vaud Mittelland.
