Herbriggen is a year-round inhabited, compactly clustered settlement in the municipality of St. Niklaus, in the Visp district of Valais.

The village lies on the right bank of the Mattervispa at an altitude of 1,260 metres, below the 2,400-metre-high Nieschfäd.

The village centre consists almost entirely of old buildings and a church.

In the nearby hamlet of Zenachern, several carefully restored old houses can be viewed.

Herbriggen has a parish church and a former chapel. In addition, two preserved pewter jugs belonging to the rifle guild from the 19th century are documented.

The rest of the local valley floor contains sand deposits up to two metres deep; the nearby hamlet of Mattsand takes its name from this feature.
