Culture and history
The name Höfe dates back to a medieval division: the Vorderer Hof around Pfäffikon SZ and the Hinterer Hof around Wollerau. Both areas originally belonged to the possessions of Einsiedeln Abbey.
Ufenau belongs to Einsiedeln Abbey, while Lützelau belongs to the local municipality of Rapperswil (Rapperswil-Jona).
