The Arosa–Litzirüti toboggan run follows the Plessur and the tracks of the Rhaetian Railway. For the most part, it runs through dense fir forests.

Nature

The Langwies Viaduct is the highlight of the short hike from Litzirüti to Langwies. After a few metres, you reach a wooden bridge offering a view of the 62 m-high Langwies Viaduct. The hike leads through the Ronenwald forest, passing experience stations on the «schutz.wald.mensch» educational trail. On the hiking trail between Arosa and Langwies, the educational trail features interactive stations and offers educational experiences for children and adults.

Culture

The Langwies Viaduct lies between Litzirüti and Langwies. It was built in 1912 and has a span of 284 m. The name Litzirüti refers to a shady side and to an area that was once forested, cleared and made usable for agriculture. In the Middle Ages, Walser people settled in the area around Arosa, Langwies and Litzirüti.

Routes

The Medergen–Sapün route is signposted in only one direction: Arosa–Medergen–Langwies–Arosa. After crossing the Plessur, it reaches Litzirüti and there joins the well-known route to the reservoir and Arosa. From Arosa via the reservoir to Litzirüti, the route then continues and climbs towards Medergen. The Hochwang–Peisteralp route leads from Arosa via the reservoir to Litzirüti and onwards to Molinis, using single trails and forest roads.

Geographical Setting

Parking spaces belonging to the Rhaetian Railway are available next to Litzirüti railway station. The Rhaetian Railway line from Arosa to Chur stops in Litzirüti.
