Valcava: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes
Culture
In Valchava stands the Chasa Jaura, a characteristic local farmhouse dating from the 17th century, which has been protected as a cantonal monument since 1971. Its historic rooms house contemporary art. The Chasa Jaura also includes a forge, an alpine cheese dairy and a black kitchen, illustrating the domestic and everyday culture of earlier generations. Temporary exhibitions, theatre performances, concerts and readings also take place there.
The Reformed Church of Valchava is a monument of regional importance. The lime kiln in the Puoz area of Valchava is likewise considered a monument of regional importance.
The Senda da las linguas is an approximately 8 km-long audio tour around Valchava with 11 listening stations. They feature short poetic radio plays in Jauer Romansh. The eleven poetic audio pieces use Romansh field names as the starting point for acoustic and narrative miniatures.
The desire to rent a holiday apartment in Valcava may be part of personal travel planning.
Trails and Landscape
The A la riva dal Rom hike passes flat bogs and follows the lower course of the river through the floodplains along the Rombach. There is a playground with a fire pit directly by the water in Valchava. For this hike, the PostBus runs hourly from Zernez or Mals to the Tschierv, Süsom Tschierv stop.
Winter
The Senda da l'uors snowshoe trail passes the lime kiln, where you can briefly look inside the kiln. It also runs via the Furom cross-country skiing centre and continues to Valchava.
