Getting There
The former Huttwil–Eriswil railway line no longer carries passenger services; instead, a bus runs from Huttwil to Eriswil. From Huttwil, there are direct train connections towards Bern and Lucerne.

History
In the 14th century, Eriswil was connected with the Barons of Grünenberg as part of the Lordship of Rohrbach BE.

A hiking route leads up to the Ahorn viewpoint and onwards to Eriswil. The Napfbergland Border Trail runs along the ridge before the route branches off towards Eriswil.
