Water and Leisure

The Iseltwald lido has a diving board, stand-up paddleboards and sit-on-top kayaks.

The lido features a ship-shaped play tower with a slide, climbing wall and swings, as well as a sandbox and a water play area.

The Iseltwald lido offers swimming in Lake Brienz with a gentle entry or diving board, as well as lounges, barbecue facilities, a bistro and facilities for children.

Trails and Views

The Farnihubel Trail is a circular route from Iseltwald village square to the Farnihubel viewpoint and back.

The Senggflue Trail is a circular route from Iseltwald village square via Sengg and the Mühlibach waterfall to Senggflue and back.

The Three Waterfalls Trail leads from Bönigen via Iseltwald and the Giessbach Falls to Brienz.

The Farnihubel viewpoint offers views across Iseltwald Bay and of Seeburg at the end of the peninsula.

Landscape and Special Places

Mülibachfall can be reached from Iseltwald via a short footpath. The water plunges several metres over a rocky ledge into a pool and then flows into Lake Brienz.

The First–Faulhorn–Iseltwald hiking route crosses the alpine cultural landscape of Bättenalp and then leads down through the forest to Iseltwald along an old cattle trail paved with large pebbles.

Schnäggeninseli is the only island in Lake Brienz. The island is home to a small chapel and is privately owned.

Seeburg is privately owned and cannot be visited; it can only be viewed from the outside.

In 2007, the Bättenalp mountain farming association received the Cultural Landscape Award of the Oberland-Ost region for the high aesthetic and ecological value of its diverse alpine landscape.

Getting There

During the season, Iseltwald can be reached by boat from Interlaken Ost in approximately 40 minutes. Public buses run year-round from Interlaken West or Interlaken Ost to Iseltwald and take around 30 minutes.
