Schönenbuch is a municipality in the district of Arlesheim, in the canton of Basel-Landschaft, Switzerland.

Schönenbuch is located in the Sundgau at an elevation of around 355 metres above sea level and is surrounded by France on three sides; the only Swiss connection leads towards Allschwil. 71 % of the municipality’s area is agricultural land, 27 % is settlement area and 2 % is forest.
Schönenbuch had a chapel before the municipality obtained its own church in 1825; in 1862, Schönenbuch became an independent parish.
Schönenbuch was first documented in 1315 and has historical connections to St. Clara’s Convent in Basel as well as to the former Prince-Bishopric of Basel.
