The Mokrade Turca educational trail reveals a mosaic of wetland ecosystems comprising wet meadows, marsh meadows, reed beds, sedge marshes, alluvial forests and shrubland. These habitats are home to rare and endangered plant and animal species. Mokrade Turca is also characterised by rare, endangered and critically endangered plant and animal species.

The Turiec and Blatnický potok protected area also includes the cadastral area of Valentová. It encompasses a largely natural river course with meanders, side channels, shallow stretches and deep areas. The protected area also includes alluvial forests, shrubland, wet meadows, pastures, reed beds, fens, oxbow lakes and seasonal pools.

Paths, Cycling and Riding Experiences

The 23-kilometre Mokrade Turca educational trail begins near Valentová, leads through Ivančiná and Diviacke kruhy, and continues to the Rakšianske rašelinisko peat bog. The trail is an uncomplicated, self-guided cycle route that can be used in summer and winter. At the same time, it starts near Valentová and is suitable for both hikers and cyclists.

Another connection is provided by the 38.5-kilometre Južný Turiec cycle route. It passes through Valentová, which lies at kilometre 25.5 of the route. This places two differently designed route experiences side by side: the educational trail running through wetlands and the longer cycle route through the southern Turiec region.

History and Architectural Heritage

A boundary inspection from 1362 referred to Murenfeld as present-day Valentová. The settlement belonged to the kuriat villages. A notable example of the local architectural history is the Valentová manor house, a Neoclassical residence built at the beginning of the 19th century.

The manor house had a projecting columned portico with three arcades on the main façade, topped by a pediment. Thus, medieval local tradition and Neoclassical manor-house architecture stand side by side in Valentová.

At Ranch Amadeus, under the supervision of a butcher, head cheese, sausages, liver sausages and other dishes are prepared to order from a pig weighing approximately 200 kilograms.
