The cave landscape nevertheless remains a defining part of Zibreira’s history and character, particularly because of the archaeological finds at Entrance 1 of the Gruta da Nascente do Almonda near the source of the Almonda. The materials found there date from the Middle and Upper Palaeolithic through to the Roman period.

The Lapa da Bugalheira also represents a long history of use. It is classified as an Imóvel de Interesse Público and was first used in the Neolithic, then reused in the Chalcolithic. Church art as a cultural counterpoint

Zibreira’s cultural side also includes the Igreja de São Sebastião. Its main altarpiece features richly decorated gilded woodcarving and creates a distinct artistic and craftwork accent. In addition, several objects from the former Mosteiro de Santa Clara de Santarém were transferred to the church in 1902. This date belongs to the history of the transferred objects and should not be equated with the construction or present-day use of the church.
