Sardoal’s religious celebrations play a defining role. They begin two weeks before the Easter date established in the liturgical calendar and end 50 days after Easter Sunday with the Festa do Espírito Santo, also known as the Festa do Bodo. Semana Santa and the Festa do Espírito Santo are recognised as intangible cultural heritage. The Festa do Bodo includes a procession and an open-air Mass. During the event, 20 girls carry blessed bread and offerings.

The Centro de Interpretação da Semana Santa e do Património Religioso presents Sardoal’s religious and artistic heritage through an interactive information and interpretation system. This makes it possible to include the significance of local traditions as a specific focus when planning your trip. The Igreja Matriz, whose origins date back to the end of the 14th century, features architectural elements ranging from Gothic to contemporary styles. The Casa Grande is considered an important architectural heritage monument in Sardoal. It was built at the end of the 17th or beginning of the 18th century and later rebuilt. Some routes are marked on the ground or via a GPS system. A service station provides a bicycle wash, a manual tyre pump, a repair stand with tools, drinking water and parking spaces.

The area can also be explored on foot. The Câmara Municipal de Sardoal has established a network of hiking trails that showcases the cultural, ecological and natural heritage of the Concelho. The PR2 Trilho do Pastor follows an old route linking Abrantes and Sardoal and passes the Igreja Matriz along its heritage route. This allows you to choose between culture-focused trails and longer cycling tours when planning your trip.
