Domingos Jardo, who was Bishop of Lisbon and Grand Chancellor of D. Dinis. The Igreja de Nossa Senhora da Consolação is believed to have been founded in the second half of the 16th century. It continues to play an important role in the life of the local community; Mass is still celebrated there.
