It was discovered in 1979 in the parish of Falagueira-Venda Nova during investigations into a Roman aqueduct identified in the municipality of Amadora. Casa Roque Gameiro combines architectural and art history. The house was built between 1898 and 1901 in the area of the parish of Venteira as a residence for the watercolour painter Alfredo Roque Gameiro and his family. Particularly striking are the azulejo works, including a tile pattern in the dining room by Rafael Bordalo Pinheiro with naturalistic themes. For September 2026, Casa Roque Gameiro is listed as being open from Tuesday to Saturday between 10:00 and 17:30, and on Sundays from 14:30 to 17:30; it is open on public holidays.

At the Núcleo Museológico do Casal da Falagueira, six exhibition areas are dedicated to the local heritage. The main building of Recreios da Amadora is also part of the city's history: it was inaugurated on 17 August 1914. Contemporary culture can be found, among other places, at the Galeria Municipal Artur Bual, which organises exhibitions and has developed innovative cultural projects over the years. The Cineteatro D. João V is also a cultural institution that contributes to the cultural revitalisation of Amadora and Greater Lisbon.
