Winter Sports

SnowWorld Zoetermeer has four slopes, including Europe's steepest indoor slope, as well as ten ski lifts on real snow. Online reservation of a time slot at SnowWorld is required for recreational skiing and snowboarding. According to the operator, visitors can use the facility 365 days a year. The facility therefore combines various slope profiles with a winter sports offering available year-round. Climbing

Adventure Valley has climbing walls up to 17 metres high. These climbing walls include more than 150 routes. Adventure Valley's climbing park has four climbing routes. The Waterwandeling Zoetermeerse Plas is a 6.5-kilometre walking route along well-maintained paths and takes an average of 1.5 to 2 hours. The route includes a free audio tour with six stories about improving water quality. The route therefore combines the stated distance and duration with six accompanying stories about the development of water quality.

The Nieuwe Driemanspolder has 12 kilometres of designated cycle paths that connect to existing paths in the surrounding area.

Culture and History

Dorpsstraat is Zoetermeer's historic village centre, where a network of paths, waterways and greenery has been well preserved. Around 1380, the knight Willem van Egmond, lord of Zegwaart, had Huis te Palenstein built in Dorpsstraat. Dorpsstraat thus brings together the preserved historic village centre and a specific recorded construction event from the late 14th century.

Molen De Hoop is the only grain mill in Zoetermeer. Free guided tours take place at Molen De Hoop every Saturday from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. During these tours, visitors are taken upstairs and receive information about the mill and the milling process. The tour therefore includes both climbing up into the mill and explanations of its function and the processing of grain.
