Thijsse’s Hof offers a different nature experience. The approximately two-hectare Heemtuin contains exclusively native plants from the Kennemer Dunes and is the oldest Heemtuin in the Netherlands. The Eerebegraafplaats Bloemendaal also represents the historical dimension of the area. It is located in Nationaal Park Zuid-Kennemerland, a protected natural area. On October 28, 2010, it was designated a national monument of the Netherlands by the Minister of Education, Culture and Science. At Eerebegraafplaats Bloemendaal, 372 victims were given their own graves in the dunes.

Getting to Bloemendaal aan Zee

Bus route 81 is the only bus connection to Bloemendaal aan Zee. Bloemendaal aan Zee is best reached by train to Zandvoort station, followed by the beach bus, the Noord shuttle bus.
