Flower Days in spring: approximately one hundred floral mosaics between Breezand and Anna Paulowna
The Bloemendagen in Anna Paulowna and Breezand have their roots in the 1950s; in 1953, they began with nine participants. The event takes place every spring in Anna Paulowna, Breezand and the surrounding area. Approximately one hundred floral mosaics are displayed in the gardens. The event locations can be reached by car, bus or bicycle. This means that, in addition to the colourful mosaics, visitors also have a practical choice of transport options.
“From sea to flowering village”: polder history from the sea to the village
The drainage of the Anna Paulowna Polder began in 1845. A polder is land reclaimed by draining it. The development of Breezand on land that was still sea less than two centuries ago is described by the title “Van zee naar bloeiend dorp”. At Stoomweg 59 stands a Stolpboerderij, a farm complex; part of it is designated as a provincial monument. The address therefore connects a specific historic site with the development of the polder and the origins of Breezand.
Church, museum and cycling route with two historical exhibitions
The Sint-Jan-de-Evangelist Church in Breezand was solemnly consecrated on 13 September 1931 by Dean Guilonard of Schagen. The Oud Anna Paulowna Museum presents an exhibition of historic buildings; a cycling route has been established along these buildings. The museum in Anna Paulowna also features the exhibition “100 jaar na de watersnood” about the Anna Paulowna Polder.

Animal park and swimming pool in the centre of Breezand
Kinderboerderij De Regenmortel is located in the centre of Breezand at Pastoor Verhoeffpark. Zwembad Den Krieck is also part of the central attractions. It offers a 25-metre pool, a teaching pool and a paddling pool for toddlers. The animal park and swimming pool each have a different focus: here, the emphasis is on animals and spending time in the park, while there, it is on different forms of swimming.
