Crafts, Agriculture and Remembrance

Molen Zeldenrust is a post mill and grain mill on Oude Kleefsebaan. It was moved from Geertruidenberg to Raamsdonksveer and later to Overasselt. After the 1972 storm, it was rebuilt on Oude Kleefsebaan; at its present location, it was rebuilt again in 1982. At the De Lage Hof Agricultural Museum, housed in a monumental farm estate, you can see historic equipment and tools from agriculture and crafts. Groups and school classes can visit by appointment.

During the traditional Oogstdag harvest day at Buurderij De Lage Hof, rye is threshed with old machinery, grain is milled, old tractors are displayed and other traditional crafts are presented. The miller and the baker work together to make the Overasseltse molenbroodje. In this way, the history of rural crafts complements the area's trails and buildings.

The Airborne Monument Overasselt adds another historical landmark. Three large Corten steel sculptures depict the outlines of descending parachutes and commemorate the landing of paratroopers from the 504th Parachute Infantry Regiment of the American 82nd Airborne Division on 17 September 1944 during Operation Market Garden.
