In Tirnauca, 27 October is celebrated as the patronal feast of “Praskovia” and, at the same time, as Village Day.

An estate commissioned by Praskovya Kosichenko also dates from 1796. She was the widow of a colonel in the Tsarist army who was killed at the fortress of Izmail. The estate has been preserved to this day and is therefore one of the village’s visible historical connections. The collection of fairy tales by journalist Inna Kireeva also points to a local storytelling tradition that extends beyond individual buildings.

Museums Offering Unusual Insights

One of the notable destinations is the Museum of Bottled Alcoholic Beverages. It has six decorated rooms containing more than 10,000 bottles of alcoholic beverages from around the world. Moldovan culture takes centre stage at the “Casa Karaman” clay-house museum. The house museum also contains a handwoven carpet that is almost 120 years old.
