The church’s wooden predecessor was built in 1816; in 1870, it was rebuilt in stone on the same site. A later religious event is dated precisely to 4 October 2025: a Divine Liturgy was celebrated on that day to mark the 90th anniversary of its first consecration. The Sociteni war necropolis was first established in 1942. It contains the remains of 20 Romanian soldiers from the 25th Infantry Regiment who died in combat on 16 July 1941.
