The Līvāni Glass Museum presents the history of the Līvāni glass factory from 1887 onwards. On display are several thousand glass products made at this glass factory. The museum therefore provides not only an overview of individual objects, but also an insight into the development of glass production in Līvāni.

Those who want not only to observe the production process but also to get to know the material themselves can include the glassblowing workshop in their plans. There, visitors can watch hot glass products being made. The “Touch the Glass” workshop also allows participants to create their own glass design object. Another hands-on option is the Tiffany glass workshop, where participants are supported in making their own stained-glass window using the Tiffany technique.

Culture, traditions and open exhibitions

There are also various cultural topics to discover beyond the Glass Museum. The Līvāni Liberation Monument was restored and reopened on 2 December 2004. The Old Believer community in Līvāni has existed since the beginning of the 20th century and is therefore also part of the town’s history.

The “Dubna” Studio of Applied Folk Art preserves and further develops old weaving traditions. The exhibition house organizes free art exhibitions that are open to everyone.
