Culture and history

Various events and historical reenactments of bygone eras are organised every year at Lielvircava Manor. At Vilce Manor, an exhibition on the history of the school is open to visitors. It covers the era of the barons, hunting stories and legends, as well as the revolutionary movement of 1905. Nākotnes Park displays vintage objects, old aircraft and a collection of retro motorcycles.

Eleja and its parks

At Eleja Manor Park, historic paths have been restored, a bridge to a peninsula in the pond has been built, and interactive environmental objects have been installed. The Eleja Exhibition Hall presents a historical exhibition about the Eleja estate complex and the people who were important to its development. From 1 August 2023, the exhibition hall was open to visitors by prior arrangement. Tea tastings are available at the Eleja Tea House for an additional fee.

Nature and activities

A 7.2 km exploration trail through the sites of the Christmas Battles begins and ends at the Christmas Battles Museum. Guided tours with playful educational elements about rare and specially protected plant and animal species are offered in Vilce Nature Park. Twelve disc golf baskets are installed across the entire grounds of Vilce Manor Park; discs can be rented by prior telephone arrangement from the Vilce Tourism Information Point. The circular trail, guided tour and disc golf are different forms of activity that you can consider separately when planning.
