Holiday apartment in Paese: culture, canals and special experiences
Paese between culture and watery landscapes
When choosing a holiday apartment in Paese, it is worth taking a closer look at the different facets of the town. Cultural and historical buildings, scheduled events, a landscape shaped by canals and destinations in the wider region create various options for planning your trip. Depending on whether you prefer shared experiences with children, historical discoveries or a cycling tour, your stay in Paese can be given different thematic focuses.
Palaces, museums and historical sites
There are several culturally significant destinations of different kinds in the area around Paese. The Palazzo dei Trecento is a palace, while the Musei Civici di Treviso and Chiave di volta snc are museums. La Bellissima Treviso is a historical site. The spectrum therefore ranges from individual buildings to museum venues, which you can consider as different cultural focal points when planning your trip.
The historical architecture is complemented by several villas and religious buildings. Casa Quaglia is a Gothic villa building from the 15th century and is considered one of the oldest examples of villa architecture in the Treviso area. Villa Panizza was built in 1810 by the Malanotte family and expanded around 1870; the restored villa houses the Paese municipal library. Villa La Quiete was built in 1778 by Marquis Giuseppe De Canonicis. Around the middle of the 19th century, it became one of the most important centres of the Venetian resistance against the Austrians; Teresa De Perissinotto, Daniele Manin's wife, lived there in exile from 1848 to 1849. The Oratorio di Villa is a chapel integrated into the garden of Villa La Quiete, with a 16th-century fresco depicting the Virgin Mary with the Child Jesus. The Chiesa di San Lorenzo in Padernello was built on the foundations of the first religious building in the early years of the 18th century and consecrated in 1712 by Bishop Morosini.
Events for families and active days
Three different events are planned in Paese for 2026. „Biblioteca in festa“ is scheduled for 9 May 2026 at 3:00 p.m., alternatively on 16 May 2026, at the Parco di Villa Panizza, with entertainment, games and workshops. This combination gives families with children a specific reason to plan a shared afternoon. „Paese in bicicletta“ is scheduled for 30 May 2026, alternatively on 6 June 2026, as an ecological cycling tour on the roads within the municipality of Paese. On 8 November 2026, „Delizie d'autunno 2026 – Festa di San Martino“ follows, featuring a market event, food and drink offerings and public entertainment.
Canals, mountains and regional contrasts
There are numerous ditches and canals in the Paese area. They are supplied by artificial canals diverted from the Piave, particularly the Canale della Vittoria di Ponente. The wider regional area also includes Colesel Val dell'Acqua and Monte Moncader as mountains, Parco Manin as a park and Carbonera as an island. These different landscape features complement the cultural and historical themes with a natural and water-related perspective.
When looking for a holiday apartment in Paese, you can therefore make the desired mix for your trip the main focus: historical buildings and museums, family-friendly events, a cycling tour within the municipality or the landscape with its ditches and canals. The Paese municipal library in the restored Villa Panizza combines a specific cultural venue with the event location of „Biblioteca in festa“.
