The area opposite Isola del Balutìn is connected with the Tamisiana Repubblica di Bosgattia, which Luigi Salvini established there from 1946 to 1955. The wooded section of Via Lazzara also has a historical connection: it probably follows the course of the Roman Via Popilia, a road from the Roman imperial period.
