The parish church of Santa Margherita di Vigonza was demonstrably founded before 1136. It may already have been a monastic church; it was probably entrusted to the Portuensian Augustinian canons. Its documented history therefore reaches far back into the Middle Ages.

In 1520, Nicolò Barisoni transformed Villa Barisoni-Capodilista from old feudal structures into an aristocratic residence. Its stylistic elements preceded the architectural language codified by Andrea Palladio.

In 2007, the Quirino De Giorgio Archive was classified by the Archival Superintendency for Veneto as being of exceptionally high historical importance. Access is possible for study and documentation purposes only by appointment.
