The SAT trail O415, Senter de Croina, leads from Tiarno di Sotto to Malga Viés. The SAT trail O416, Senter del Pià, leads from Tiarno di Sotto to Bocca Casét. The Cascata del Gorg d’Abiss and the Massangla
The walking trail to the Cascata del Gorg d’Abiss begins in Tiarno di Sotto and follows the Massangla stream to the waterfall. At the Cascata del Gorg d’Abiss, the Massangla has carved a natural cavity into the rock over the centuries. The water emerges between stone walls, plunges into a small mountain lake and then continues to flow as a small stream. The path from San Giorgio to the Cascata del Gorg d’Abiss in Tiarno di Sotto was restored to improve its accessibility.
Loop trails following historical traces
The Di cascata in cascata loop trail runs along the old Roman road from Croina and leads to historical and natural attractions. The historic road from Croina, where the Ponte Romano di Croina stands, connected Riva del Garda with the Alpine passes. A loop trail from Tiarno di Sotto leads to the Cascata del Gorg d’Abiss, the Mulino dei Bugatini, the Chiesetta di San Giorgio and the Ponte Romano di Croina.
Churches and traces of architectural history
The Chiesetta di San Giorgio is located on a hill at an altitude of 860 m and overlooks Tiarno di Sotto, Tiarno di Sopra and the upper Ledro Valley. The Mulino dei Bugatini is the only one of the many watermills that once stood along the Massangla to have survived to this day. The present-day building of the Chiesa di San Bartolomeo dates from 1860 and was built according to a design by the architect Claricini. A small rectangular church can be traced at the site of the Chiesa di San Bartolomeo as far back as 1348. The Chiesa di San Bartolomeo has a 72 m-high natural-stone bell tower.
Fiera di San Francesco in the town centre
The Fiera di San Francesco is an annual festival held in the town centre of Tiarno di Sotto. It includes a traditional market, music and a food tour showcasing the cuisine of the Ledro Valley.
