Parish church and historic Viles

The parish church of Pieve di Marebbe is explicitly referred to as “Parrocchia di Santa Maria di Marebbe” in a document from 1347. Its present structure is Baroque and has a cruciform layout. The Renaissance high altar was carved from wood in 1636. A permanent spiritual administration in Marebbe has also been documented for the parish church since 1214. It is considered a popular and well-visited pilgrimage destination for residents of Val Badia and believers from Val Pusteria.

La Pli developed around the parish church of Pieve di Marebbe, initially consisting of just two farmsteads; the village later grew from this nucleus. Curt (Corte) is a Vila with five farmsteads and a small chapel. It is known for its 17th-century houses with original portals and frescoes. Brach comprises four farmsteads and a castle that was inhabited by the Prack nobles until 1682. Gran Ciasa, a notable noble residence, is also located in the small centre around the church square of Pieve di Marebbe. The rebuilt castle of Brach can be admired on the way to the Vila of Pliscia.

Walking trails and hikes with views

The Roda dles Viles circular hiking trail begins in La Pli and follows paths or small roads to the Viles of Brach, Ciaseles, Frontü and Biei. The accessible walking trail between Brach and Pieve di Marebbe offers views of San Vigilio and Fanes-Senes-Braies Nature Park. When hiking to Plan de Corones, it is also possible to return via the Pieve di Marebbe side.

Cycle tours around Kronplatz

The Giro del Plan de Corones is a circular cycling tour around Kronplatz and can be ridden clockwise or counterclockwise. On the Giro del Plan de Corones, the direction of travel around Kronplatz is part of the tour planning. Another cycle route from San Vigilio passes through Pieve di Marebbe and continues via Fordora, Cianoré or La Costa, Costamesana and Furcia. The easy, family-friendly La Pli-Track MTB tour follows paved roads from San Vigilio via the Miara cable car valley station and the Plan de Corones road through meadows and forests to Pieve di Marebbe. From there, it offers extensive panoramic views.
