Plan beach days with a holiday apartment in Marinella

Spiaggia di Marinella stretches for more than 800 metres. Fine white sand and turquoise, crystal-clear water define the beach. The sandy seabed is shallow and slopes gently. When planning a day at the beach, the specific local amenities also include parasol and sun-lounger hire, seaside bars and restaurants, showers and toilets, as well as easier access for people with disabilities.

At Spiaggia di Marinella, windsurfing and snorkelling are available, as well as canoe and pedal-boat hire. A boat trip to the Tavolara Archipelago departs from there; another boat trip heads to Mortorio Island and the Costa Smeralda. Buenaonda Surf organises guided excursions on the water, including kayak tours, boat trips to observe marine life and SUP excursions along the coast.

Porto Marana and excursions on the water

Porto Marana includes a marina for 320 boats. The harbour accommodates boats up to 15 metres long and with a maximum draught of 2 metres. Porto Marana is also a starting point for trips to the islands of Soffi and Mortorio and the Maddalena Archipelago.

Hiking trails, views and local history

The Madonna del Monte–Marinella hiking route is regarded as a route that begins near the Nostra Signora del Monte church near Marinella. It crosses two gentle hills and offers panoramic views of the Costa Smeralda, Golfo Aranci and Olbia. The trail forms part of an old votive pilgrimage route leading to Nostra Signora di Cabbu Abbas.

The cultural side includes the Chiesa di Marinella Vergine della Pace. Architecturally, it is inspired by the simple rural sacred architecture of the Mediterranean and built from tuff, terracotta and limestone. In the municipality of Golfo Aranci, Zuppa di Pesce is a typical speciality of the fishing village and inspired the Festival della Zuppa di Pesce e delle tradizioni di mare.

Getting there and choosing a beach

Marinella railway station is a few minutes’ walk from Spiaggia di Marinella. Spiaggia di Marinella is connected by bus services from Olbia, Porto Rotondo and other places along the Costa Smeralda. Scuba diving is possible at Spiaggia di Punta Marana; a car park as well as bars and restaurants are nearby. The beach has light golden sand with a medium to fine grain.
