Historic traces between castle and church
Castello di Beinasco dates back to the 13th century. On Corso Cavour, a preserved gate from the 13th-century castle walls of Beinasco has survived. The Roman funerary inscription of Beinasco is dated to the 1st or 2nd century AD. The inscription thus takes the historical timeline back before the medieval castle walls.
The Church of the Santa Croce Brotherhood was designed in 1750 by Bernardo Vittone, a pupil of Filippo Juvarra, and completed in 1751.
The Chiesa di Sant’Anna in Borgaretto acquired its present form in 1891. Following its restoration, the church of the Santa Croce Brotherhood was intended to serve as a venue for concerts, conferences, meetings and debates.
At the Sangone: bridge and cycle path
The Passerella Zuin is an 80-metre-long cycling and pedestrian bridge suspended over the Sangone River. It is named after Albano Zuin, a partisan from Beinasco who was killed by occupying troops in Forno di Coazze on 16 May 1944. The naming connects the bridge with a specific chapter of local remembrance.
The 19.5-kilometre Percorso H cycle path runs along the Sangone and passes through Beinasco. Its length provides a concrete framework for planning a tour. By comparison, the Passerella represents a single, 80-metre-long bridge section; the two figures can therefore be taken into account as different scales when planning the route. A longer stretch and a short crossing do not require the same allocation of time. For planning purposes, the expressly stated route length remains the relevant extent of the cycle path.
