The Chiesa di San Pietro is the oldest church in Cavallermaggiore. The Chiesa di San Bernardino o Santa Croce – Confraternita dei Battuti Bianchi was built between 1734 and 1743 to a design by the architect Francesco Gallo. Its elliptical dome, featuring perspective paintings by the Pozzi brothers, is particularly striking.

The Santuario della Beata Vergine delle Grazie was founded in the 15th century by monks of the Order of Saint Augustine from the hermitage monastery. The tower is 28.60 metres high and was restored in 2000; during the restoration, old decorations by W. L. Salis were uncovered. The Palazzo Garneri complements the historic setting as a Renaissance building from the mid-16th century, with round arches, columns and capitals. The church of the San Rocco Brotherhood was built from 1681 onwards according to plans by Giovenale Boetto.

Giardino del Priorato and Trails along the Maira

The Giardino del Priorato includes an area based on the medieval concept of the “garden of simples”. Plants grown for practical purposes grow there. The garden also has four sections recreating a dye garden. The plants displayed there were once used to dye textiles, especially silk.

Along the river near Lago Mairetta, the trail allows riverside walks along the Maira on some sections.
