Near the Biferno is also the prehistoric Morgia "La Rocca", a Bronze Age archaeological site belonging to the Parco delle Morge Cenozoiche del Molise.

The decorative ensemble "trasporto della Santa Casa a Loreto" by Ciriaco and Stanislao Brunetti from the 18th century centrally depicts the Madonna and Child on the Santa Casa, carried over the sea by angels. The Museo Domestico is a permanent exhibition established in 2016 in the homes of Oratino’s residents; the works were donated by around twenty contemporary artists.

Festivals, craftsmanship and flavor

La Faglia takes place on December 24: A candle approximately 13 meters long, made of reeds, is carried from the entrance to the town to the forecourt of the church, where it is erected and lit. Two partiell or tampers, two spreaders, two pairs of tongs and a ratchet are used to beat the reeds. During the Infiorata on Corpus Christi, residents create flower carpets that decorate the procession and the streets of Oratino’s medieval borgo.

Le Lessate takes place on January 17 with a large fire in front of the Church of Santa Maria di Loreto and the distribution of a dish made from legumes and grains. Oratino’s stoneworking tradition has its roots in the 16th century and continues today through the work of a small number of craftspeople. Pizza e minestra is part of the traditional cuisine of Oratino and Molise.
