Monteverde Between History and Landscape

Monteverde is a district of Bojano whose character is predominantly agricultural. The start and finish were at the Chiesa Madre di Bojano in Contrada Monteverde. From there, the route followed a long straight section, a shorter climb and a longer, more challenging climb, as well as dirt and gravel sections. In 2015, the race was considered a traditional event held on 2 August.

The sequence of course sections is also described: after a climb, the first singletrack led into the woods. Near the end came a final climb through the woods, followed by a slalom section and a faster, less technical singletrack back to the finish straight. Duathlon and a Culinary Highlight

Another sporting example is “I Love Duathlon,” whose first edition was announced for 2018 in Monteverde di Bojano. Mountain biking and cross-country running were planned. Competing in teams, athletes were to complete two laps of 5,200 metres each, alternating between cycling and running. A tasting of typical dairy products was also planned for participants. It was part of the event programme, not a general tasting for visitors. Unlike the Trofeo, whose described course was a repeated mountain bike circuit, the duathlon format combined two disciplines in a relay.
