The Cappella Verri is decorated with frescoes by Francesco Corneliani, including “The Return of the Prodigal Son”. The historic architecture also includes Villa Carlotta. It is part of the Cascina Borella complex west of Ornago and has three above-ground floors. Both places offer different starting points for cultural discoveries, without limiting the visit to a single theme.

The history of the Chiesa di Sant'Agata dates back to before the 16th century, and it was consecrated in 1908 by Blessed Cardinal Carlo Ferrari. Inside, it has three aisles separated by columns, as well as numerous frescoes depicting episodes from the lives of the saints. The Chiesa del Sanatorio is also part of the town's historic character: the Ornago sanatorium opened in 1910 to treat tuberculosis and was abandoned in the 1970s; the church was built at the beginning of the 1920s in the Neo-Romanesque style.

Another unusual stop is the Cappella dell'Addolorata. It was built as a cemetery in 1777. Later, the building protected a mass grave dug outside the church and the town from the elements.

Natural areas and routes around Ornago

The Boscone di Ornago is a rare 12-hectare lowland oak woodland in the heart of Parco P.A.N.E. and a habitat of high ecological and landscape value. Its wetland is directly connected to the Boscone's main path by a more clearly defined trail and has an entrance on Via Roncello in Ornago. The woodland complex known as “ex sanatorio di Ornago” was managed as part of an agreement to enhance the natural features of the coniferous forest; today, it is available to PLIS P.A.N.E.

For active days, the “In MTB nei parchi della Brianza” mountain-bike route leads from Gessate metro station through Parco del Rio Vallone to Ornago. Those who prefer to combine culture with an easily accessible site will find an accessible place to visit at the Santuario della Beata Vergine del Lazzaretto. Two festivals are held there on the second Sunday after Easter and the second Sunday in October. The Anfiteatro di Via Carlo Porta is an outdoor venue accessible to everyone.
